I contacted my car insurance and my deductible is $1000 plus my vehicle will be unusable during the repairs. I called the Take 5 location and spoke to the manager about the incident and he suggested I purchase an aftermarket plastic replacement off of eBay and offered to zip tie it back on my vehicle. While I was driving down the interstate that same day my skid plate underneath my vehicle flew off my car behind me nearly causing an accident. After everything was complete I asked them to let me know if everything checked out ok at the end of the visit the technician who in return was one of the managers on site told me everything looks perfect and even proceeded to check my tire pressure. So the manager went underneath and removed the skid plate. One of the younger technicians yelled out to the manager and said that my vehicle had a skid plate. Mind you my vehicle is a 2016 honda civic and has a factory metal plate that is required to remove when doing the oil change. The technicians seemed tired and overheated although I figured I could trust them to do their job with the routine oil change. On 5/9/22 I had my vehicle serviced for an oil change at 24150 Veterans Blvd Port Charlotte Florida. My normal dealership was busy on the day I needed to get an oil change before leaving town so I decided to bring it into a Take 5. Myself, I take much pride in my vehicle maintenance, always keeping up with oil changes, and tire rotations to name the least.
